The project “Borrow a Musical Instrument For Free” helps to become a great friend with music. To borrow the instruments, read the terms of use:

The Terms of Use

  • The Music department of the Tartu City Library lends musical instruments.
  • Borrowing instruments is free.
  • A reader under the age of 18 has the right to borrow an instrument home only with the consent of the child's legal representative.
  • Instruments can be borrowed for 21 days, the reader can renew the term and place a hold on an item.
  • The reader is obliged to follow the maintenance requirements of the instrument, which are included with the instrument and are published on the library's website.
  • The reader is obliged to return the instrument to the music department within the lending deadline cleaned, tuned and with all the parts included in the set.
  • Each returned instrument is checked for technical condition by the library's music department within 30 days.
  • If the instrument is damaged or if the reader does not return the instrument or any part belonging to it, the reader is obliged to replace it with an instrument of the same name or to pay three times its purchase price to the library.
  • The reader may not take a damaged instrument for repair without prior agreement with the library or repair the instrument himself.
  • The damage caused by the child is compensated by their legal representative.
  • The launching of the project “Borrow a Musical Instrument For Free” was supported by the Gambling Tax Council.

 

Children under the age of 18 can borrow instruments only with the written consent of a parent or guardian. You can download the consent form to fill in with LibreOffice or to fill in with MSWord or to fill in by hand (pdf).
