Principles of organizing a public event in the Tartu City Library

  1. The library organizes public events and trainings, prepares exhibitions and displays and rents rooms for holding events.
  2. Events held in the library must remain within the bounds of good taste. Information harmful to health or based on pseudoscience (horoscopes, witchcraft, etc.) may not be advertised in the library. There is also no political advertising in the library.
  3. If political parties/associations want to hold a public event in the library, the participation of at least three different parties or two parties with different worldviews must be guaranteed.
  4. The organization of events and exhibitions in the library is coordinated by the public relations department. If you wish to organize an event or exhibition in the main building (Kompanii 3/5), please contact liina.raju@luts.ee. If you want to organize an event in a branch, please contact the head of the branch.
  5. As a rule, information about public events taking place in the library premises is visible on the Tartu City Library website, except for events intended for a narrow interest group or closed events. The events reported on the library's website are also published in the Tartu Culture Window (https://kultuuriaken.tartu.ee/).
  6. Based on the instructions for organizing environmentally friendly events of the city of Tartu, single-use dishes are not used at events organized by the library. If possible, please consider the corresponding recommendations: https://www.tartu.ee/et/rohejuhend
  7. If you want to organize a free public event, the library provides the premises free of charge. When renting rooms for closed events, the price list of the Tartu City Library is based on: https://www.luts.ee/en/tasulised-teenused
  8. The library premises must be used responsibly and returned in the same condition.
