The Technical literature reading room of non-fiction (second floor) has books from the following fields: computers, electronics and radio engineering, weapons and military equipment, traffic, including traffic tests and traffic regulations, car repair, cooking, agriculture, horticulture, fishing, hunting, beekeeping, construction and architecture, crafts, interior design, photography.

Activity room: sewing machine, overlock sewing machine, 3D printers, film scanner, binding machine, document scanner, laminator.

The collection of the Foreign and Older Books reading room contains Estonian-language books and magazines published in Estonia up to and including 1944.

Robert Beck's library, which the Tartu city government bought in 1923, has also been added to the collection. Robert Beck was a bibliophile and an art collector. His collection includes approximately 2,000 foreign language books on art, history, literature, etc areas.

Tartu-themed archive collection and archive collection of works with autographs and bookplates can be used on site. The department also houses the archive collection of Oskar Luts, which contains an almost complete collection of the writer's works and literature about him.
