HOME SERVICE

Once a month, on Wednesdays, our library bus will make a round in Tartu and deliver books and magazines to users who have joined the home service.

WHO TO? To the inhabitants of Tartu whose state of health causes temporary or permanent difficulties in visiting the library.

WHEELCHAIR-BOUND USER

How does a wheelchair-bound user get access to the library?

A wheelchair-bound user can get access to the whole building. There is an elevator in the house. WC-s for disabled people are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor where there are also sloping gangways leading to the departments of non-fiction and technical literature. Parking lot (with a fee) lies behind the building along Vabaduse puiestee.

A wheelchair-bound user can get access to the whole building but the gangway at the front door is quite steep and the door opens with difficulty. The house has a WC for disabled people and an elevator to the 1st floor. Cars can be parked at the entrance in front of the building.

Tammelinn Library (Suur kaar 56), phone 746 1035
Wheelchair has access to the ground floor of the library, there is a gangway at the front door. There is a WC for disabled people in the house. Periodicals, children's literature and internet access room are situated on the ground floor. Fiction for adults and young people is on the 1st floor, a librarian delivers the requested books to the user. Cars can be parked in front of the library.

Library is situated on the 1st and 2nd floor. A wheelchair-bound user can get access to the reading room on 1st floor via an elevator from the ground floor. Reference room, periodicals and internet access room are situated on the 1st floor. Books for circulation are on the 2nd floor, a librarian delivers the requested books to the user. Cars can be parked at the 2nd floor parking lot and from there one can get to the library reading room on the 1st floor without an elevator.

 

 SOUTHERN ESTONIAN ASSOCIATION OF THE BLIND

Is it possible to borrow the audio books of the Southern Estonian Association of the Blind included in the catalogue of Tartu Public Library? How?

Books of the Southern Estonian Association of the Blind can be borrowed in the library of the Southern Estonian Association of the Blind at Ringtee 1, preferably by members of the association (but also by people with other visual disabilities that hinder the reading of ordinary printed texts).
